High rate of lung cancer in NC

Nov. 15. According to the American Lung Association, North Carolina has 63 new cases per 100,000 people, compared to the national average of 54.6 new cases per 100,000 people, putting us at No. 39 out of the 48 states ranked. Details in the 2023 “State of Lung Cancer” report.

Nov. 13. The NC Department of Transportation is  holding two meetings tomorrow to discuss proposed projects to widen a section of Sam Burr Road.
