Wastewater spill near Jetton

Aug. 26. There’s been a small wastewater overflow in Cornelius, this one behind 16607 Jetton Road. An estimated 24 gallons reached Lake Norman. Many homes along the lake are served by low pressure sewer systems. A contractor accidentally broke a low pressure sewer pipe that conveys waste from a home. A total of 94 gallons were spilled. There were two spills earlier this summer nearby; both were much larger.
