No swim advisory lifted after test

Torrence Chapel Estates Circle. Knox Cove is to the left, below Fiesta Place

June 1. The no swimming advisory for Knox Cove near Torrence Chapel Estates Circle has been lifted after laboratory results indicated bacteria counts were within safe limits.

On Saturday we reported roughly 460 gallons of sewage spilled into the lake due to a damaged pipe on Torrence Chapel Estates Circle.

The damage was caused by a private contractor while performing horizontal drilling. The pipe has been repaired, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Storm Water Services.
