Smithville clean-up day is Saturday

The Smithville Community Clean-up is 8 am to noon Saturday April 16. Volunteers and teams will meet at Smtihville Park. Organizers, including the Smithville Coalition, will meet between 7:30 am and 7:45 am. Beginner’s Day at JV Washam

J.V. Washam Elementary School will host Beginners’ Day for incoming kindergarten students on Wednesday, April 27, from 8:30 am to 10 am in the gym. American Legion BBQ March 24

American Legion Post 86 is having a BBQ fundraiser for the Jerry Crump statue to be added to the Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza. Until recently, Cpl. Crump was the only Medal of Honor recipient from Mecklenburg County. The BBQ is March 24, starting at 11 am. The cost is $10.
