Tie-Dye Art

2-3 pm | June 27. Learn how to make cool tie-dye designs and create your own tie-dye hat. Supplies will be provided.This program is for children in grades K-5. Registration is required; registration opens noon June 13. Cornelius Library, 21105 Catawba Ave.

North Meck Community Farmers Market

Summertime Storytimes

1:30 pm | June 28.  The Davidson Police Department invites area children (and those young at heart) to attend its Summertime Storytimes in front of the Davidson Public Library. Local author Keri Culp will read “The Poo at the Zoo.” Attendees will be able to purchase copies of the books from Main Street Books and have them autographed by the author, as well as participate in author Q & As. In case of inclement weather, the storytime will move to the Lower Level Community Room of the Davidson Town Hall and Community Center building, 251 South St.

Bring your gently used puzzles and leave with new-to-you puzzles.

Puzzle Palooza

5:30-8:30 pm | June 28. Register now to compete in a tense battle of epic puzzling to see which team will be the first to complete the same 500-piece puzzle. The first two teams to finish will walk away with our coveted, one-of-a-kind Puzzle Palooza medal, not to mention bragging rights. All competitors will be treated to pizza and refreshments prior to the competition, and each pair will get to keep their competition puzzle. Teams consist of two people; registration required. $30 per team for Cornelius residents / $36 per team for others. Cain Center for the Arts, Catawba Avenue.

Dance Without Limits

Noon – 1 pm | June 29.  A Culture Blocks program presented by Order My Steps designed for seniors of all levels.  Improve strength, coordination and mobility while learning new steps and styles. David B. Waymer Recreation Center, 14008 Holbrooks Rd., Huntersville.

Town Talk: Boat & Lake Safety Event

6:30 pm | June 29. Lake Norman is the perfect backdrop for boating, swimming, or fishing on a hot summer day, but like any body of water, it can also be dangerous.Hear directly from the lake-safety experts on what you can do to keep yourself and your loved ones safe this season. Cornelius Firefighter EJ McCormick and Cornelius Police Lake Patrol Officer George Brinzey will lead the discussion. Registration recommended, but not necessary. Senior Dance

3:30 – 4:30 pm | Thursdays. This free class is designed for senior adults to improve flexibility, breath, balance, mobility, and fluidity by exploring various elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and improvisation. Participants can choose to take the class seated, standing, or a combination of both. Presented by Charlotte Ballet. Northern Regional Recreation Center, 18121 Old Statesville Rd., Cornelius.

The Charlotte Symphony at McGuire Nuclear Station’s EnergyExplorium

8:30 pm | June 30. Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and enjoy an evening of music along the shores of Lake Norman. Free admission and parking; boaters may anchor in the EnergyExplorium’s cove at the southern tip of Lake Norman. No pets, please. EnergyExplorium at McGuire Nuclear Station, 13339 McGuire Nuclear Station Rd., Huntersville.

Saturday, July 1

Coffee, cops and Confections

9 am | July 1. Cornelius Police Officers invite you to join them in front of the Police Department, Catawba Avenue, for a morning pick-me-up. Coffee and donuts will be provided, as well as great conversation.

Concerts @ the Circles

5-6:30 pm acoustic artist; 7-9 pm headline artists | July 1. Rivermist. Live music on Jetton Street near Clean Juice, Davidson. This block of Jetton Street will be closed from noon-10 pm on concert evenings.

Ghost Hunt

6:30 – 9:30 pm | First Saturday monthly. Take part in an authentic ghost hunt of the Hugh Torance House and Store and grounds (weather permitting) using investigative tools led by members of the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society. Limited to 18 guests, 12 and older. Hugh Torance House & Store, 8231 Gilead Rd., Huntersville.

Tawba Walk

2-8 pm | July 1.  Eclectic art crawl through the heart of Cornelius, featuring local vendors, live street performances, shopping, food and more. Downtown Cornelius.

Independence Day Patriotic Stroll

5:15 pm | July 2. To walk in the stroll in Davidson, line up in front of the 251 South St. building at 5:15 pm. Police will be closing off South Street, starting at Cathey Street,  between 5:10 and 5:35 pm soparticipants can line up in the road and on the sidewalks. Festivities will begin at 5:30 pm. All participants are encouraged to march in the parade dressed in Independence Day attire and to decorate their wagons, bicycles, tricycles, and pets in red, white, and blue. A color guard comprised of members of the police and fire departments will lead the parade up South Street onto Main Street and the town green. Downtown Davidson.
