NCDHHS reports 2,034 new COVID-19 cases statewide

Oct. 9. The NC Dept. of Health and Human Services is reporting another daily increase in the number of new cases of COVID-19 statewide above 2,000. Today’s report shows 2,034 new cases, down from 2,428 in yesterday’s report.

There have been a total of 227,431 cases statewide since the outbreak began in March.

Tests, meanwhile, are coming back positive at the rate of 5.7 percent statewide. The goal is less than 5 percent.

There were 25 new deaths statewide in today’s report for a total of 3,747 North Carolinians who have died.

Hospitalizations rose to 1,065 statewide, up from 1,051in yesterday’s NCDHHS report.

Mecklenburg

The NCDHHS today reported 125 new cases in Mecklenburg County, down from 134 new cases.The cumulative total is now 30,088 county-wide.

The NCDHHS today reported one new COVID-19 death in Mecklenburg. The total is now 365.

Mecklenburg coronavirus tests are coming back positive at the rate of 4.4 percent, fairly steady over the past several days.

North Mecklenburg

Cornelius: 5 new cases. Total/cumulative deaths remain at 16.

Davidson: No new cases. Total/cumulative deaths remain at 6.

Huntersville: 8 new cases. Total/cumulative deaths remain at 13.
