March 22. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,248 new COVID-19 cases, down from 2,133 new daily cases a month ago on Feb. 22.

Hospitalizations were at 924 today, down from 1,7567 exactly one month ago.

There were 16 new COVID-19 related deaths statewide, one in Mecklenburg County.

Beginning this week, the NCDHHS COVID-19 dashboards will drop the Saturday update.

Testing

The statewide positive test rate is at 5.8 percent. Mecklenburg County came in at 4.7 5.1 percent on the NCDHHS report.

North Mecklenburg (from March 20)

Cornelius: 8 new cases, 2,617 cumulative; 24 deaths total.

Davidson: 9 new cases, 1,503 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 22 new cases, 5,350 cumulative; 47 deaths total.
