HEARTS Milling Around this Saturday moves indoors

Jan. 25. Due to the rain this week and flooding at the site of the Torrance Mill ruins, the HEARTS Milling Around event Jan. 27 has been moved inside to Cedar Grove. The event, which begins at 1 pm, includes bluegrass music, dancers, and art by Robert Childers, as well as discussions led by mill historian Chuck Ketchie about the nearly forgotten Torrance Mill.

It was built in 1824 by Hugh Torance and was a focal point of the community for decades.

Today only the stone ruins remain in the woods on private property  on Gilead Road.
