Oct. 23. Early voting begins today at Town Hall and runs through Nov. 1. Polls are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
Lines were moving quickly this morning with only a handful of voters waiting outside of the community room at town hall. One candidate estimated that roughly 200 people had cast votes thus far.
Voters this election cycle will choose a mayor and fill all five seats on the Town Board of Commissioners. Three candidates are running for mayor and six for the board.
The ballot also includes the District 1 race for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools board, with three candidates, and a referendum on a proposed sales tax increase to fund transportation projects.
