Cornelius Parks and Recreation will hold it’s annual Earth Jam celebration from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday at Robbins Park.

The free, family-friendly Earth Day event will feature live music by bluegrass band McKinney Gap, food and beverage vendors, and hands-on activities focused on sustainability, conservation and eco-friendly living.

More than 20 local organizations will offer interactive exhibits and demonstrations, including seed starting and plant giveaways, composting and recycling education, wildlife and pollinator displays, and children’s activities centered on environmental stewardship.

Participating organizations include Trees Charlotte, Mecklenburg County Master Gardeners, Mecklenburg County Solid Waste, NC Conservation Network, North Meck Community Farmers Market, Northern Regional Recreation Center, Queens Order Honey, Quest Nature Center and Kenzie’s Crayons, among others.

Food and drink vendors will include Dover Vineyards, Eleven Lakes Brewing, B & K Tea, Mrs. G’s Ice Cream and ShawarmaG.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Pets, smoking, vaping, open flames and glass containers are not permitted. A portion of proceeds will benefit Lake Norman Wildlife.
