June 2. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 265 new cases of the coronavirus statewide—down from 268 new cases yesterday—setting another new low this year.

Hospitalizations rose slightly to 610, while COVID-related deaths increased by nine from yesterday to today, setting another low.

There was one new coronavirus death in Mecklenburg County, after none during the past week.

The statewide positive test rate is at 3.5 percent; Mecklenburg, 3.1 percent.
