June 1. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 268 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, with hospitalizations at 602, a new low this year. New daily cases rose over 1,000 last June, peaking at more than 11,000 new cases a day in early January.

Today’s NCDHHS report shows no new coronavirus deaths in Mecklenburg County since Wednesday of last week.

The statewide positive test rate is at 3.7 percent; Mecklenburg at 3.1 percent.

Statewide, there have been 13,101 deaths since the outbreak began.

Cornelius: 6 new cases, 2,868 cumulative; 25 deaths total.

Davidson: 1 new case, 1,689 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 17 new cases, 6,020 cumulative; 53 deaths total.
