The Grinch who stole Christmas
Aug. 10. The 38th Annual North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade is currently on hold. Organizers promise another update on Sept. 1 with new information.
From the organizers: “The health and safety of our community is our top priority, and due to the uncertainly surrounding COVID-19, we have decided to hold off on making any decisions regarding this much loved event.”
The North Meck Christmas Parade is a popular tradition, with groups planning floats months in advance. Crowds are in the thousands to watch the parade. It’s a huge task for parade organizers as well, with participant registration usually starting now.
Events in September — the Davidson Fall Art Festival and the remainder of the Concert on the Green series — have been canceled this year.
