July 15. Pioneer Springs Community School has purchased a neighboring property in historic Croft, expanding the current campus by 5.5 acres. Jordan Lindekens lands Valspar scholarship

May 18. Cornelius Elementary School’s robotics team, the Cyber Trash Talkers, recently won the Judge’s Award at the 2016 Robofest Robotics Championship, held April 30 at UNC-Charlotte. Gabriela Amadeo inducted into Phi Kappa Phi
Gabriela Amadeo of Cornelius was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. She is pursuing a degree in Psychology at Campbell University. Only 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni enter Phi Kappa Phi each year.
