American Legion Post 86 to retire US flags July 9

June 19. American Legion Post 86 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 86 will be retiring unserviceable American flags. Flags that are torn, ripped, discolored and faded will receive an honorable and symbolic retirement ceremony at 7 pm July 9 at the Legion building at 21215 Legion St.

A key effort for both organizations is encouraging proper disposal of unserviceable flags, and this event, open to the public, brings the community together for the effort.

  1. We have several flags that need to be properly retired. Is there someone we can contact to get out flags included? Or a Dropbox somewhere?
