US Rep. Alma Adams (NC-12) will host a Zoom call at 3 pm Friday, April 3 to connect small business owners; nonprofit, charity and faith-based institution leaders; independent contractors, gig economy workers and 1099 employees; and the self-employed with federal, state, and local programs that can provide help and support during the coronavirus pandemic.

Guests include:

Thomas Stith, North Carolina Director, Small Business Administration
Lockhart Taylor, NC Assistant Secretary for Employment Security
Kevin Price, President & CEO, N.C. Institute of Minority Economic Development
David Heinen, VP for Public Policy and Advocacy, NC Center for Non-Profits
Brian Collier, Executive Vice President, Foundation for the Carolinas

The Zoom call will help connect residents with the resources they need to make it through the COVID-19 situation, Adams said.

Participants will be able to ask questions during a Q&A portion of the call. Constituents can register for the call by visiting https://adams.house.gov/meeting.

Email questions ahead of time to sam.spencer@mail.house.gov or via the comments page on Rep. Adams’ website. Additionally, they can call in at 3 pm using the following phone number and meeting ID:

“From SBA loans and expanded unemployment assistance, to federal and local grants, there are resources for small businesses and families that are struggling,” Adams said.
