Even though the deadline to complete the Census has been extended to Oct. 31, the town is urging residents to take the few minutes to complete the Census now.

As of May 30, the response rate in Cornelius is 68%,  with Mecklenburg County’s overall response rate at  60%.

The data from the 2020 Census helps the town receive federal funding for the next 10 years that goes toward education, transportation and healthcare.
