Weekly agenda Feb. 21-27: Here is what’s going on around Lake Norman

Trying to figure out what to do? This calendar, published weekly on Mondays, can point you to some of the best options in Lake Norman.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Feb. 21, 22 and 24

Open Track Nights on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

6-8 pm. James Hoyt Wilhelm Park’s 1/4-mile walking track will be lighted on Mondays and Bailey Road Park’s regulation track will be lighted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both open to the public.

Feb. 21

2022 Lake Norman Big Band

Tickets are $25 per person. New Victory Lanes, 125 Morlake Drive, Mooresville.

Feb. 22

Special Performance by Drums 4 Life

2pm. The program is free to attend. Attendees should  pre-register by phone at 980-314-1127. All ages are welcome to join. Masks will be required indoors. David B. Lake Norman Teen Council

Open to all teens in our area, the LKN Teen Council meets virtually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Staley Lecture Presents: Miroslav Volf 

7:30 – 8:45 pm. Lecture by Miroslav Volf, the Henry B. Wright Professor of Systematic Theology, and founding director of the Yale Center for Faith & Culture at Yale University. Knobloch Campus Center Alvarez- Smith 900 Room, Davidson College.

Blanchard Seniff ’22: Senior Art Exhibition Presentation and Reception

Roman Fenner, tenor concert 

3 – 4:30 pm. Join senior Roman Fenner, from the studio of Jacquelyn Culpepper, as he performs an anthology of the modern musical theater repertoire with Tomasz Robak accompanying. Featuring the works of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Sarah Bareilles, and more, he hopes to share his passion for one of humanity’s oldest art forms. Concert Series: Ivalas Quartet 

7:30 – 9 pm.  The Davidson Concert Seriesvwelcomes back the Ivalas Quartet, winners of the 2019 WDAV Young Chamber Musicians Competition. Founded in Ann Arbor in 2016, the Ivalas Quartet comprises violinists Reuben Kebede and Anita Dumar, violist Aimée McAnulty, and cellist Pedro Sánchez. Cardio Funk 

9-10 am. Saturdays. This high-energy class takes place at Bailey Road Recreation Center. $5/class or $40 for a 10-class pass. pay at the door.

Embracing Heritage: A celebration of Black History Month

1-3 pm. The town will celebrate Black History Month with a special event called “Embracing Heritage” at Town Hall.
