Waffle House on W. Catawba closed for good

July 27. The Waffle House on West Catawba is closed for good, according to the people at Waffle House corporate in Georgia. The Waffle House location was open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for years in the same location. No word on who or what will move in.

If you’ve ever wondered about their yellow and black color scheme, think school bus.

According to the Atlanta Journal& Constitution, co-founder Joe Rogers Sr. picked the colors because they reminded him of a school bus.

He thought it would increase the restaurant’s visibility to drivers.

It’s a common misconception that the founders chose the colors because Joe Rogers Jr. was a Georgia Tech grad.

We’ll miss you Waffle House.

If you need a waffle fix at 2 am, there are still plenty of nearby locations.
