Sept. 18. The Cornelius Police Department and Cornelius-Lemley Fire & Rescue responded to what looks like a false alarm—an ultralight aircraft that went down in Lake Norman. The incident happened around 10 a.m. near North Harbor Club in Davidson. Cornelius Police at 11:30 a.m. said a “witness saw the person packing up and getting into a vehicle on the Iredell Co side of Lake Norman. All units are clearing.” Police, fire and rescue from several jurisdictions responded.
