Town seeks public input on community center

April 19. The Town of Cornelius is inviting citizens to take a survey on its planned community/arts center.

Cornelius citizens approved a bond referendum for the center in 2013. The vision of this center is to provide an experiential venue located in Old Town Cornelius, designed to showcase visual and performing arts, serve as a community hub for diverse groups to gather, and empower children and adults for the creation and enjoyment of the arts.

In November, Mayor Chuck Travis appointed a strategic working group to establish the process for the planning and operation of the center. This group has been meeting regularly and has developed a course of action that will ultimately lead to the development of the new center.

As with any public project, the town and strategic working group desire community input to get a better understanding of the facilities and programs that citizens want. A brief survey is available online.  Survey deadline is April 25.
