Town seeks items related to Davidson School’s 75th anniversary

Sept. 26. In honor of the 75th anniversary of The Davidson School, community members and Davidson School alumni will have a chance to tour the building and contribute items for historic preservation.

Prior to the Fall Festival Weekend near the end of October, the Town of Davidson will be collecting historic memorabilia. Community members are invited to bring their donations to Town Hall & Community Center, 251 South St., during regular business hours 8 am to 5 pm beginning Monday, Oct.9 through Friday, Oct.27.

Donated items will be on display in the preserved classroom at Town Hall & Community Center during the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 28.

“I hope my fellow classmates and other Davidson School alumni will make plans to come back to Davidson for this special occasion and treat the weekend like a Homecoming celebration,” said Mayor Rusty Knox who attended elementary school in the recently renovated building that now houses the Town Hall & Community Center.

An online donation and required donor agreement forms will be made available on the Town’s website in advance of Oct. 9.

Suggested items for donation include but are not limited to letters, notes, emails, photographs, albums, scrapbooks, awards, brochures or flyers related to the Davidson School.
