Town Board may decide on Jetton Road dangers at Monday’s meeting

Town officials may finally make a decision Monday evening Aug.19 on what changes, if any, to make at the Jetton/Old Jetton Road intersection which is one of the more dangerous corners in the town. Their review may also consider some land acquisition to improve sight distance as well as changing the speed limit for Jetton Road. Tyler Beardsley, assistant  town manager, has coordinated several surveys of the intersection among residents and businesses, and is expected to report on the results of those surveys.  One of the options under consideration would prohibit left turns or straight across movements for traffic departing the CVS/Brooklyn South parking lot. It is also possible that the town board may decide to make no changes at this time. The town board meeting begins at 7 pm in Town Hall on Catawba Avenue.
