Tonight’s vigil for Madalina moved to Smithville Park

Dec. 20. A prayer vigil for Madalina Cojocari has been moved from the Victoria Bay neighborhood where she lives to nearby Smithville Park on Catawba Avenue.

The six-grader’s mother and stepfather are in Mecklenburg County Jail for failing to report her missing until three weeks after the mother says she last saw the girl.

There is limited parking at Smithville Park.

—The Rev. David Judge said attendees are welcome to park in the First Baptist Church parking lot on Catawba Avenue.

—David Dunn, owner of LKN Car Wash, says parking is available on his property as well.

The vigil starts at 7 pm.
