Symphony strikes a high note for health-care workers

Feb. 4. Musicians from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will be performing simultaneously at three Atrium hospitals this evening to show their appreciation for health-care workers who continue to provide dedicated, tireless care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Music from stringed instruments could not come at a better time for health-care workers as we enter a third year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The musicians are performing at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, Atrium Pineville and Atrium University City.

At the beginning of the pandemic, health care workers were honored frequently, with organized activities such as food and gift card donations, parades and people banging pots and pans at the same time each week. Public displays of support like this helped keep their spirits up. But as health care workers continue to fight this virus and have cared for countless patients in each community, COVID fatigue has set in, and these signs of appreciation have decreased.
