Step-father arrested in connection to child disappearance from Victoria Bay

Missing: Madalina Cojocari

Dec. 17. Cornelius Police have arrested the step-father of the 11-year-old Cornelius girl who was reported missing three weeks after the fact.

Christopher Palmiter, 60, was charged with Failure to Report the Disappearance of a Child, a felony.

Madalina Cojocari, who was last seen at home in Victoria Bay the evening of Nov. 23 dressed in jeans, pink, purple and white Adidas shoes, and a white t-shirt and jacket.

Law enforcement officers from CPD, SBI and FBI were at the home on Victoria Bay Drive on Friday. Meck County property records show Christopher Palmiter and Diana Cojocari purchased the two-story house in 2017.

Timeline 

She was reported missing to the Bailey Middle School Resource Officer three weeks later on Dec. 14.

Cornelius Police, with the assistance of the SBI and FBI, are looking for Madalina.
