Sandra Burgess Nikles “Sandee” of Charlotte, NC, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in Charlotte, NC from an aggressive brain tumor. She was 62 years old.

Sandee was born on April 9, 1953, in Waynesville, NC, to the late Bud and Agnes Burgess. She graduated from Tuscola High School and completed addition courses at Queens University, CPCC and various professional schools. She became a highly respected worldwide logistics professional, always dedicated to customer service. At the age of 23 she was chosen to be one of five contestants for the Miss Transportation title in Mexico City. For the past 8 ½ years she has served as the Logistics Management Specialist for BDP International.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Al Nikles, sister, Janet, and brother Wayne. She leaves a daughter, Cyndy and her husband, Erek RiCharde and her two grandchildren, Tyler and Rider. Also, she leaves behind a step-daughter, Kim, two step-sons, Thomas and Stefan, and three additional grandchildren, Cana, Finny and Olivia.

A visitation will be held at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 4-6 p.m. Another visitation will be held at the Garrett-Hillcrest Funeral Home in Waynesville, NC from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 with a service at 3 p.m.
