Feb. 3. Punxsutawney Phil may say there are six more weeks of winter to go, but Rescue Ranch has got us thinking about spring and summer. Registration is open for their 2021 Critter Camps which feature hands-on educational experiences with animal interactions.

The Spring Break session runs March 8-12.

Rescue Ranch is a nonprofit animal welfare organization founded by Krissie Newman and NASCAR driver Ryan Newman. The 87-acre facility in Statesville has “animal ambassadors” including steer, turkeys, miniature horses, potbellied pigs, parrots, ferrets, rabbits, snakes, lizards, tortoises and more.

The sessions are open to children with disabilities.
