Registration open for Young Explorers fall nature program

Aug. 12. In the Young Explorers program,  participants will investigate creatures that live in soil and wood, learn to identify local birds, plants and wildflowers, investigate native trees, and cast for catfish and brim.

This six-week program, led by Pamela Lewis with Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists, is for boys and girls, ages 7 to 12. The group will meet  6-7:30 pm Tuesdays, Sept. 6 – Oct. 18 at the Robbins Park shelter, 17738 West Catawba Ave. There is no class Sept. 20. 

The registration fee is $55 for Cornelius residents; $70 for others.

Participants may register online or in person at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave.
