Aug. 28. By Dave Vieser. Farm Fresh Nursery, a Cornelius favorite for 32 years, is moving again–this time to 18140 Statesville Road/Hwy. 21, a short distance north of the Waterman Restaurant. If that location sounds familiar, it’s very close to where they were from 2020 to 2022, until they moved to make room for the eatery.

For the past year, Farm Fresh has been located about one mile north on Statesville Road, but owner Mark Plott says this new location will be much better.

“Its more user-friendly and we intend to make it our permanent home. “Plott said. “We hope to pour concrete this week, weather permitting, and we’re aiming for a Sept. 15 opening.” If all goes as planned, he will have time to display pumpkins for Halloween.

For many years, Farm Fresh was a mainstay on West Catawba Avenue near Magnolia Estates, becoming especially popular for a large display of pumpkins and Christmas Trees. They had to move in 2020 to make room for a new Fifth Third Bank branch.

The new location is approximately 36,000 square feet and was purchased by Plott for $140,000.

“Just as we’ve done in the past, we plan to have a healthy supply of mums and pumpkins in the next several weeks as our area prepares for Halloween,” said Plott, a native Carolinian. After that, it will be Christmas trees all around!

Plott also has a farmstand in Kannapolis.
