Parks & Rec: Board members reappointed, Kolkhorst will chair

Jan. 17. By Dave Vieser. Several reappointments to the Town’s Park and Recreation Commission highlighted the  Town Board’s meeting last night. All of the votes approving the reappointments were unanimous:

1. Carla Eustache was reappointed to Seat 1 for a second full term, February 2024 – January 2027. She was originally appointed in February 2021 and has served one full term.

2. Jon Show was reappointed to Seat 4 for a second full term, February 2024 – January 2027. He was
originally appointed in February 2021 and served one full term. He also represented the Parks and Recreation Commission on the Growth Management Committee during that time.

3. Robert Reed was appointed to Seat 6 for his first full term, February 2024 – January 2027. He was originally appointed to a partial term in February 2022.

4. Chris Kolkhorst was named chair of the board for another year. He has served on the Parks and Recreation Commission since February 2016 and has been chairman since 2022.

In other action, the commissioners:

—Accepted portions of Old Canal Street and Lovers Lawn Trace for town maintenance, at the request of the developer Antiquity Resources LLC.

—Ratified an increase of $42,800 in the town parks budget to cover the costs of expanding the summer camp and Polar Bear Tag Football programs. The added funds will be generated by fee adjustments.
