Papaya Papers has a new name, a new owner and a larger location in Jetton Village.

Co-owner Tracie Stier-Johnson has purchased the business, a mainstay in Cornelius since 1998, from Wendy Presley, a long-time star in the Mary Kay cosmetic constellation, and renamed it Note + Nest.

noteandnest1Stier-Johnson says she will  focus on her budding e-commerce business, more customization, and stocking North Carolina products and brands.

“This name change and rebranding celebrates my full ownership,” Stier-Johnson said. “And, I have been so encouraged by the way people have embraced it. My initial hope was to expand our demographics here. So far, it’s been really exciting to see that.” She has experience in the paper and printing business. Stier-Johnson owned Broadway Papers in Milwaukee for nine years.

Stier-Johnson worked with Seattle-based Aeolidia Marketing on the company’s new name, logo, e-commerce website and overall redesign. She acquired an interest in the once-tiny store about a year ago.

She’s expanded, too, growing her retail footprint from 1,800 square feet to 3,500. The additional square footage includes a custom print area for shower and bridal invitations.
