Novant Huntersville scores an ‘A’ from national hospital safety rating agency

May 3. Novant Health Huntersville is one of nine Novant hospitals to get an ‘A’ rating for hospital safety from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that evaluates the safety, quality and patient experience provided by hospitals across the country.

The Spring 2023 Hospital Safety Grade is based on a hospital’s ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients. Based on more than 30 national performance measures—updated each fall and spring—the grades also reflect their ability based on their ability to prevent injuries, accidents and infections.

Dr. David Priest, Novant’s chief safety and quality officer, said Novant teams come to work each day focused on developing and implementing the best and safest practices.
