Non-profit donated $40K to local charities

June 25. The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF), a Cornelius-based non-profit, raised and distributed $40,000 in its COVID19 Emergency Fund Drive. Funds were distributed to Bags of Hope for its food supply backpacks; Feeding the Frontliners, to supply meals to local hospital staff; Safe Alliance; Caterpillar Ministries; Ada Jenkins; Top Deck and to Lake Norman Hospice.

The PCF also organized volunteers to deliver lunches to more than 400 schoolchildren in Cornelius through CMS and the Smithville CARE Center and donated 100 lap blankets to the Autumn Care Senior Center.

The PCF has delayed its Annual Fund Drive to July because of its COVID19 Emergency Relief efforts.
