Rev. David Judge, who chairs Cornelius Early Scholars, said Nance will help the organization avoid beginner’s missteps.

“She already has policies and procedures established by her extensive preschool history,” explains Dr. Mike Miltich, secretary of Cornelius Early Scholars.

The faith-based preschool will focus on 3- and 4-year olds whose family income is up to 150 percent of the federal poverty level. There will be eight students per class, with a least two classes initially. Classes will be 4 hours a day, 4 days a week.

The goal is to open Aug. 28 and follow the CMS calendar. Cornelius Early Scholars is currently accepting student and instructor applications.
