Meck County will offer Pfizer booster shots to more people beginning Monday

Sept. 24. Mecklenburg County Public Health is gearing up to administer Pfizer booster shots beginning Monday to a wider array of those who have already been vaccinated. Public Health continues to provide third doses of mRNA vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) to people with moderate to severe immunocompromising conditions who previously received two doses, per the CDC’s recommendations.

The person must verbally attest to their immunocompromising condition. Any resident who has difficulty leaving their home for a third dose can request a home-based vaccination.

Southeast Health Department, 249 Billingsley Road

Valerie C. Woodard Center – Community Resource Center, 3205 Freedom Drive

StarMed Healthcare – Tuckaseegee, 4001 Tuckaseegee Rd

StarMed Healthcare – Eastland, 5344 Central Ave

StarMed Healthcare – Bojangles Coliseum, 2700 East Independence Blvd

The Pfizer booster shot is free and will be easily accessible. Nationwide, booster shots will be available in 80,000 locations, including over 40,000 pharmacies.
