Lake Norman Marine Commission is giving away life rings

July 25. The Lake Norman Marine Commission (LNMC) is resuming the Dock Lifesaving Ring giveaway they began last year. Anyone with a dock on Lake Norman can apply to receive a US Coast Guard-approved lifesaving ring.

The LNMC will deliver the ring to you, or you can pick it up at one of the monthly Commission meetings, according to John Johnson, a Cornelius resident who represents Mecklenburg County on the LNMC.

While the rings are free, donations are appreciated—they will go to buy more rings for more docks around the lake.

To get your dock safety life preserver, just download the form, fill it out and send it in. Click here for the link to the application.
