Updated: Marcus leads in Early Voting

Election Night. UPDATED. NC Sen. Natasha Marcus (D-41) has a sizable lead over opponent Christopher Cole (Constitution Party) in Early Voting results as reported by the Mecklenburg Board of Elections. Marcus had a 3:1 margin over Cole with 75,416 votes vs. 26,842. The Mecklenburg GOP did not field a candidate to run against Marcus this year, leaving her with a relatively smooth path to another term.

UPDATE: Marcus was the clear winner: 82,291 to 32,133 with 28 of 28 precincts reporting.

At 9 pm, Marcus said she felt good about a win tonight but was also busy watching results in several other races, and eager for good news. “I look forward to the honor of representing the people of Senate District 41 for another term,” she said.
