CPD Capt. Jennifer Thompson

Her mother, Diana Cojocari, 37, and stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, 60, have been charged with failure to report the disappearance of a child to law enforcement. They are set to appear again in court tomorrow.

Cornelius Police along with the SBI and FBI have gone door to door to some 245 homes—most of them in her Victoria Bay neighborhood—in their effort to find the Bailey Road Middle School sixth grader.

In the Facebook video Cornelius Police Captain Jennifer Thompson said the mother and step-father’s actions have hindered the investigation and search. Nevertheless, law enforcement officials have spoken with hundreds of people, following 250 leads in the case.
