Dec. 13. As a result of the “overwhelming generosity” of the LKN community and the wonderful partnership with our food provider, Publix Supermarkets, the Kiwanis Club of Lake Norman raised more than enough funds to support the 312 Thanksgiving family meals provided the week of Thanksgiving.

With that unexpected surplus, the club is providing donations of $300 each to nine local organizations including Angels and Sparrows, Caterpillar Ministries, Loaves and Fishes, Ada Jenkins, Little Smiles, The Giving Basket, Blissfully Humble, Bags of Hope, and the Saturday Breakfast Program at the First Baptist Church of Huntersville.

In addition, the club is providing a $600 donation to the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccama.

The club meets Thursdays at noon for lunch at Brooklyn South in Cornelius.
