Junion video is out

July 22. If you missed the June HEARTS event, “Junion,”  the video of the event is available.

You’ll hear the soulful sounds of the Stroller Singers and Messengers of Torrence Chapel AME Zion church sharing historic songs, as well as keynote speaker, Andre’ Kearns, who shares his story of tracing his ancestry back to Charlotte Kerns, a woman who was enslaved to James G. Torrance, the man who built the Cedar Grove plantation.

HEARTS (History, Ecology, Art, Reunion, Trails, Store) is a mission of the non-profit Hugh Torance House and Store, 8231 Gilead Road, Huntersville.

“Junion,” was the June 2022 event honoring connections of the Reunion Project.
