July 12: This is just a test

July 12. The outdoor warning sirens around the McGuire Nuclear Station will be tested between 11 am and 1 pm tomorrow, July 12.

There are no less than 67 sirens within 10 miles of the McGuire Nuclear Station, and they will sound for five to 30 seconds. To ensure they are functioning properly, it may be necessary to test some sirens more than once. This test is performed in cooperation with emergency officials in Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln and Catawba counties.

Because it’s a test, local broadcasting stations will not interrupt regular programming .
