Habitat for Humanity accepting critical home repair applications

Jan. 12.  Cornelius homeowners who have critical home repair needs are encouraged to apply for Habitat for Humanity funding.

Critical home repair needs impact the health and safety of a home’s occupants.  Eligible repairs include water or roof damage, leaks, plumbing problems, HVAC, electrical services, mold and siding repair, termite issues, and home access ramps.

Our Towns Habitat for Humanity has received funding through Community Development Block Grant to provide the repairs to families in need in Huntersville and Cornelius.  Nine repair projects are now underway in Huntersville.

No payment is required for these projects, but recipients must sign a recapture agreement and may be required to repay the cost of repairs if the home is sold within five years.  The homes must be owner-occupied, and recipients must meet income requirements.

Funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  Professionally qualified contractors will perform the work.

For more information or to receive an application, contact the Our Towns Habitat for Humanity Family Services Department at 704-896-8957 x 128.
