The annual “Guns & Hoses” faceoff between the Cornelius Police Department and Cornelius-Lemley Fire & Rescue brought in $5,280 for the TopDeck Foundation, which supports the police.
The event at Bailey Road Park feature a first pitch thrown out by Hough High School Alum and current UNC Tar Heel star Luke Maye.
The Cornelius Police Department started out strong with a lead in the game but eventually succumbed to the fire and rescue team which ended up taking home the trophy.
