Fierce weather coming Tuesday

Jan. 8. If you can choose where you work, tomorrow might be a good day to batten down the hatches from home. The National Weather Service is calling for an all-day rain, possible thunderstorms and winds in the 24 mph to 29 mph range, with gusts as high as 46.

—CMS cancelled all classes Tuesday.

—Cornelius Town Hall is closed.

—Gov. Cooper signed an Executive Order Monday declaring a State of Emergency.

NEW: New rainfall amounts between 2 and 3 inches possible.

Temperatures will start out in the low 40s Tuesday and climb into the 60s as the warm front plows through.
