Feb. 14

Amandine Gay Film Screening – Une Histoire à Soi/ A Story of One’s Own 
7-10 pm. Film screening + Q&A with the director. Film in French w/ English subtitles. The event is free and open to the public. Chambers Hance Auditorium (CHAM-4121), Davidson College.

Organ at Davidson, Season Continues 

7:30 – 9 pm. Matthew Cates, Kenan Organ Scholar from UNC School of the Arts will perform. Free concert.  Davidson College Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.

Showing of “Hidden Figures”

2 pm. Movie with popcorn and candy selection. The program is free to attend. Attendees should  pre-register by phone at 980-314-1127. All ages are welcome to join. Masks will be required indoors. 6-8 pm. James Hoyt Wilhelm Park’s 1/4-mile walking track will be lighted on Mondays and Bailey Road Park’s regulation track will be lighted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both open to the public.

Feb. 15

Scaffolding: Helping Every Student Succeed 

3 – 4 pm. Dr. Flower Darby discusses strategies to add structure and develop critical thinking without sacrificing rigor. Watch this webinar together in the Wall Atrium or watch on the Workshop Series website. Wall Academic Center Hamilton W. McKay Atrium, Davidson College.

Emily Mendenhall ’04 “Unmasked” Author Talk 

7 – 8:30 pm. Author and Davidson alumni Emily Mendenhall ’04, is a medical anthropologist and Professor in the Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) Program at Georgetown University. She publishes widely in anthropology, medicine, and public health. Her latest book, “Unmasked,” investigates political priorities, cultural squabbles, and business interests that undermine public health when no mandates are in place. Event will be live-streamed. Pearce Hyatt ’22 Exhibition Presentation and Reception

4-6 pm. Join us for an opening reception with Pearce Hyatt ’22. Artist’s talk will be presented in-person and via Zoom. To attend by Zoom please RSVP. A reception will follow the presentation.

Davidson College Symphony Orchestra: Winter Concert 

7:30- 9 pm. J. Estes Millner Professor of Music William D. Lawing and Artist Associate Cynthia Lawing join us for a performance of Shostakovich’s Concerto No.1 for Piano, Trumpet, and Strings.
