Here’s to you! The Leprechaun Loop 8K marathon starts early SaturdayThe 8th Annual Celtic Festival kicks off Saturday at 1 pm.  Kick back Sunday with an eventing of Irish Tunes in Davidson. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday at Discovery Place Kids.  But the Mac Daddy of St. Patrick’s  Day celebrations is at Galway Hooker, all day Saturday!

16th Annual Youth Art Show Reception

Mooresville Arts hosts the opening reception and awards ceremony for their 16th Annual Youth Art Show. 6 pm to 8 pm at 103 W. Center Avenue, Mooresville.

Mt. Zion UMC Craft Night

What’s your favorite activity?  Scrapbooking?  Making cards?  Crocheting, knitting or sewing?  Maybe painting?  Join us in Christian fellowship and spend special time together  2 pm to 7 pm in the Hut. Bring a snack to share. Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius.

Kayak Tour

Paddle the calm waters of Mountain Island Lake while learning the history and importance of our local waterways. All equipment is provided, and all skill levels are welcome. Come dressed for adventure and bring plenty of water and snacks. 1 pm to 3 pm, Latta Nature Center, Huntersville.

Veterans Park Car & Truck Show

Town of Huntersville and Sons of the American Legion Post 321 present: Veterans Park Car and Truck Show. 9 am to 1 pm. All makes, models and year vehicles are welcome.

8th Annual Celtic Festival

Join us for 2 days of Historic Festivities including: Celtic musicians and dancers, bagpipers, Celtic warriors in action, and historic encampments. Weavers, spinners, artisans, blacksmiths, leatherworkers, bakers and more. Food trucks and craft beer available.  Historic Latta Plantation, Huntersville.

Leprechaun Loop 8K

Team Summit Foundation is excited to host the 9th annual Leprechaun Loop 8K on at 6:30 pm in downtown Davidson. Also returning for 2020 is the one-mile Fun Run, starting at 6:00 pm.

18th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party Celebration

On Saturday, the block surrounding the Galway Hooker will be transformed into Lake Norman’s own slice of Ireland. The festivities begin with live music by Brooke Lee, Ghosts of Bannockburn, and the area’s favorite, The Audiophiles, along with a Family-friendly games zone, bagpipers, Irish step dancers and a raffle benefiting the American Patriot Fund. Snap a selfie with the Lucky Leprechaun too. 11 am to 2 am, Galway Hooker, Cornelius.

Ales & Autos: Exotic/Muscle Car Cruise In

Ales & Autos is a monthly car cruise for all vehicles at Eleven Lakes Brewing. Cruise in for cold brews. Food available by Whatza Spiedie. 1 pm, Cornelius.

Teen Geek Club: Hogwarts

Bring out your inner geek and share your fandom by celebrating the four houses of Hogwarts. 2 pm to 4 pm, Cornelius Public Library.

An Evening of Irish Tunes

Following up the last two years’ sold-out performances, Charlotte’s own bluegrass and folk music legend Jon Singleton will perform a concert of Irish American music to celebrate the heritage of old St. Patrick. 7:30 pm to 9 pm, Tyler-Tallman Recital Hall, Davidson.

 

Monday, March 16

Organ at Davidson: Bach Birthday Bash

Organ at Davidson presents its annual Bach Birthday Bash on at 7:30 pm, Davidson College Presbyterian Church. The recitalist is Dr. Joseph Causby, Director of Music and organist at the Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill NC. The concert is free, with donations accepted, and is followed by a reception.

 

Tuesday, March 17

St. Patrick’s Day at Discovery Place Kids

Wear your lucky green this weekend.  We’ll be reading The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day by Natasha Wing. Afterward, we’ll head to I CAN Create for some green fun.

Table Top Tuesdays

This is the first of a ongoing weekly meeting where you can play various tabletop games. No need to bring anything. Will be setting up and playing for fun. This weeks game is The Walking Dead. 7 pm to 10 pm. Parker Banner Kent & Wayne – Comics & Games, Cornelius.
