The Arts and Science Council presents Connect With Culture Days to provide the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community with free cultural experiences and activities. On Friday, visit Cornelius Town Hall for free visual arts experiences. On Saturday, enjoy free admission and an art lesson at the Carolina Raptor Center. Lake Norman’s two newly elected state legislators, Rep. Christy Clark and Sen. Natasha Marcus, are the speakers. Tickets include a full breakfast at The Peninsula Club. (SOLD OUT).

The Cain Center for the Arts helps bring us visual arts experiences.
In this action-packed adaptation of the classic adventure story, precocious Mowgli grows up believing he’s as fierce a wolf as any of the members of his pack. When he learns he is actually a human, he must decide whether to remain with the pack or return to the human world from which he was born. Jan. 25-Feb. 3 at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.
Davidson College alumnus and drummer Michael Glaser joins the Davidson College Jazz Ensemble. 7:30 p.m. in the Duke Family Performance Hall at Davidson College.

One-day workshops on “Landscape With Acrylics” and “Self Portraits With Graphite.” 9 a.m.-noon at the Cornelius Arts Center.
Come and co-create with artists Crista Cammaroto, Tom Delaney and Ali Donohue. Artist Leigh Anne Carter will sign her books and teach an art lesson at 11 a.m. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville.
Bluegrass gospel group Golden Valley Crusaders and Southern gospel group Eternal Vision will perform at 5:30 p.m. at Living Word Ministries in Lowesville.

Carolina Xtreme Lacrosse is offering a free youth lacrosse clinic for boys and girls in grades K-5 who live in Cornelius. Pre-registration required. 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Cornelius Elementary School.
Violinist Joseph Meyer and pianist David Gilliland present a program featuring the music of Dede, Foss, Gershwin, Ravel, Vieuxtemps, and Davidson composer Mary Armistead-Jones. Free. 3-4:30 p.m. in the Tyler-Tallman Hall at Davidson College.
