ELECTION NIGHT. Incumbent NC Rep. Christy Clark is only slightly ahead of opponent John R. Bradford III in Early Voting results just posted by the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections.

The actual numbers are 27,671 for Clark (50.47 percent) vs 27,155 for Bradford (49.53 percent).

These results do not include voting today. Historically, Early Voting tends to swing Democratic.

IT’S BRADFORD VS. CLARK

Of course, the race is a toss-up, but a political strategist said Clark’s lead in Early Voting needed to be larger to win.

None of the 12 precincts that comprise District 98 have reported as of 8:30 pm.
