Davidson: Phase 2.5

Sept. 8. Gov. Roy Cooper announced the state would be moving into a modified “Safer at Home” Phase 2.5  through October 2.

What does this mean for town facilities? Here’s an update from the town.

Playgrounds at town parks are open. Use these facilities at your own risk; many of our town parks have hand sanitizing stations, but plan ahead and bring your own sanitizing equipment if you so choose.

Adhere to  protocols such as wearing a face covering for all ages 5 and older, maintaining social distance and not gathering in groups of more than 50 individuals outdoors.

No games for contact sports are permitted under Phase 2.5 of the Governor’s Executive Order. Basketball goals will be reinstated on town property for athletic conditioning drills, practice and family play only.

Restroom facilities will reopen at town parks. These restrooms are cleaned by town staff, but not sanitized regularly. Please be mindful and be prepared.

Davidson Town Hall remains closed to the public during Phase 2.5.

Town staff will continue to work remotely. Public works, police and fire departments will be available on-site in their roles as first responders.

In-person town-sponsored events remain canceled at this time, and all town board and advisory board meetings will continue to be held virtually.
